President

Association of Professional Bankers, Sri Lanka

Welcome to the Association of Professional Bankers (APB) of Sri Lanka.

For over three decades, APB has served as the country’s foremost professional body representing banking professionals. We have consistently championed excellence, integrity, ethical conduct, and continuous professional development, values that underpin public trust in our profession and support the long-term strength of Sri Lanka’s financial system.

Banking is evolving at pace. Technology is transforming how financial services are delivered, customer expectations are rising, regulatory requirements are becoming more complex, and sustainability and geopolitical developments are reshaping risk and opportunity. In this environment, professional bankers play a wider role than ever before as trusted advisers, responsible stewards of capital, and partners in national development.

As President, my focus is to further strengthen APB as the leading platform for professional excellence, thought leadership, and meaningful collaboration across the banking and financial services community. We will continue to invest in continuous learning and capability building to ensure our members remain future-ready and equipped to lead with confidence.

We will expand opportunities for intellectual discourse, policy dialogue, and collaboration with universities, regulators, and industry stakeholders, bringing together local expertise and global perspectives to address the challenges and opportunities facing our sector.

We will also deepen engagement with regional and international professional bodies to promote best practice, encourage innovation, and enhance the global standing of Sri Lanka’s banking fraternity.

Above all, APB remains committed to the highest standards of professionalism, sound governance, and ethical leadership. I invite our members, partners, and stakeholders to actively engage with APB as we shape the next chapter of our Association through shared knowledge, purposeful collaboration, and a collective commitment to progress.
